If you’re a local artist, performer or fashion designer and have been looking to turn your passion into a profession, the Artsmarts business mentoring program could be for you.
Following our creative passion and doing what we love for a living is a dream many of us share, and this six month program aims to achieve just that.
During the program local artists will learn how to commercialise their art, brand and market their business, run the back of house, and undertake strategic goal planning.
Local artist and business owner Skye Petho of Arthouse Industries will facilitate one-on-one sessions and monthly group catch-ups, with participants collaborating to help bring Port Macquarie’s popular Artwalk to life again in early 2018.
Skye has more than 25 years business experience and 15 years as a trainer in the creative industries.
Time is running out with applications closing this Friday, November 17, so jump online and apply today at pmhc.nsw.gov.au/artsmarts.
Lake Cathie Family Fun Day
Pack the kayak, sunscreen and fold up chairs and head down to the family fun day at Lake Cathie Reserve this Saturday, November 18, from 10am.
There’ll be face painting, live music, kids games, a free sausage sizzle and the opportunity to chat with council staff on the draft Lake Cathie Foreshore Master Plan.
The plan has been designed from feedback and ideas received from the local community at a recent think tank session, and it’s exciting to see a draft now available for the community to provide feedback.
A big thanks to the Lake Cathie Progress Association, Lake Cathie Lions Club, school students and local families for their input so far, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the fun day on Saturday.
