The Pink High Tea on October 21 is organised by The Westport Club and Mother’s Day Classic Port Macquarie.

Money raised will go to the 2018 Mother’s Day Classic event and ultimately to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Mother’s Day Classic is a fun run and walk in support of breast cancer research.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the only national body that funds breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.

Mother’s Day Classic Port Macquarie volunteer event organiser Kylie Bulmer said the Pink High Tea would be a great way to keep raising awareness.

“I think it will be a nice afternoon out, something relaxing and casual, but for a good cause,” she said about the high tea.

The Westport Club community and sports manager Jen Edmunds said breast cancer impacted so many people.

“Cancer, no matter what form, is horrendous and to be able to do something that can raise awareness and that can support the research and early intervention is something that we are proud to be part of,” she said.

The high tea will feature music, inspirational stories, fun activities, lucky door prizes and silent auctions.

Sweet and savoury treats will tempt the taste buds and supporters will receive a glass of bubbles on arrival.

Four or five paintings from Hastings Valley Fine Art Association will be for sale with a 25 per cent commission from each sale going to the cause.

Hastings Valley Fine Art Association president Bernice Daher has donated a painting for the silent auction and she will also run freelance sketching.

Hastings Valley Fine Art Association’s Terri Maddock will create a demonstration painting during the event, which will be available to buy.

“It is a cause that is close to us all,” Ms Daher said.

Each person at the high tea will receive a gift bag from Nutrimetics.

The Westport Club will donate $10 from every ticket to the Mother’s Day Classic Foundation.

The Pink High Tea runs from 2pm to 5pm on October 21 at The Westport Club’s events centre.

Tickets cost $59 a person.
