The club will hold a free tennis day on Sunday.
Clubs running a tree tennis day will enter a ballot for a main draw player to represent them at January’s Grand Slam event.
Club president Lyndon Bartholomew said it was a good opportunity for people to pry themselves away from the television screen.
“It’s about getting families here and getting them outside of the house,” he said.
“It’s like any sport, once you see it on TV you want to come and have fun and join in, but tennis is something that goes all year round.”
Bartholomew said it will be a great day out for the whole family.
“The tennis open day promises to be a lot of fun, and you don’t need to know how to play tennis to come along and join in,” he said.
“It might just be the start of a new interest and new friendships.”
Tennis in Australia has never been as popular as it is now, and with over 213,000 kids participating in the sport, it’s a great opportunity to invite the public of Port Macquarie to try out a range of tennis activities and events.
The towns associated with the 2018 Australian Open Grand slam winners could take home $5000 in prize money to go towards the club.

These include the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, cardio tennis, speed serve, a hit the target competition, coaching, free play, free sausage sizzle, prizes and more.
