It is not the first time they have come away winners, claiming multiple wins for the best pie in Australia over the past five years.
The 2017 competition was held at Fine Food Australia, Sydney International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour on September 11 to 14.
Bakers and pie makers from all over Australia converged with their best creations.
They were judged over a four day period by an elite team of 16 judges from the baking industry.
Bel’s Bakery won five gold pies for plain mince, combination, chicken cheese and bacon, the big breakfast and vegetation, with the latter two claiming the overall award for the best pie in the country.
“Everything is slow cooked, everything is done down to perfection and hours go into making an award winning pie,” Mr Morrison said.
“We are in our 20th year as a bakery this year and I’m happy to say the pies and the recipes are pretty much a team effort.
He said winning the awards each year keeps them motivated. His son, Baylee, was also a huge help with the transport of the pies to the competition.
“It keeps you pushing for the next level. We have more ideas, and for a month or two before the competition we study what we want to do,” he said.
“Everything that goes into the pie has to be quality. All quality and all local ingredients.
“Grumpy’s Meats supply our meat and have been a great help, and we get all of our fruit and veg from Port Macquarie.”
The community support for the popular bakery keeps the crew thriving.
“We have a lot of community support. We love making great bakery food, but also healthy options like the salad bar,” he said.
“We have six full time bakers, excellent shop girls and that really helps us have a good relationship with the people in town.
“They are the reason we are here. If we didn’t have great local support and great customers then we wouldn’t have the success we do.”
