Bonny Hills Beach Hotel Social Golf Club farewelled their mate recently, and were determined to present the proceeds of their Thursday night raffle to help other locals who are seriously ill.
President Tony Carroll said Mick’s fellow social golf club members had no hesitation supporting the Palliative Care Unit and its patients.
“Mick’s partner, Margaret Kennedy was thankful for the support and care the Palliative Care team provided, and so were we,” Mr Carroll said.
“We wanted to express our gratitude for how well Mick was treated, and we intend to make the donation an annual gift in memory of him.”
The social golfers presented their $100 donation to Palliative Care Nursing Unit Manager Mary Trotter.
“We are very thankful for the support our unit and our patients receive from the community,” Ms Trotter said.
“Every dollar donated helps us to better support the people we care for.
“We thank the social golf club members for remembering their friend in the most generous way possible… by helping other seriously ill patients,” Ms Trotter said.
