The main event and Tastings Ignites will be combined into a one day/evening extravaganza on October 28 between noon and 8pm.
The new one-day event, themed Fire, Water Harvest, will be relocated to the western side of the Town Green.
It will run from the end of Clarence Street along the foreshore and take in part of Short Street.
That is due to rejuvenation works on the Town Green (east) and the Town Square redevelopment.
The celebration will be more targeted at food and producers, and will retain the festive feel.
The day will feature the much-loved food stalls, demonstrations, markets and entertainment through to a cultural fusion of local art, musical performances and street performers.
Satellite events will add to the experiences over the weekend.
They will range from fine dining, to lunches and dinners, tastings, farm gate experiences and tours to promote the best of our region.
The Tastings on Hastings Favourite Foodie Awards, an addition in 2017, are about to get under way.
