Local organisations are encouraged to celebrate the enormous contribution seniors make by hosting an event during the 2018 NSW Seniors Festival.
Grants of up to $10,000 are on offer to run events and activities that will support the festival’s 60th year. The $200,000 grants program is part of the NSW government’s continued commitment to creating a more inclusive community for seniors and celebrate the immense value older people bring to our community.
The 2018 festival is from Wednesday April 4 to Sunday April 15. Grant applications close 5pm, Friday, September 8. To to submit an application go to nswseniorsfestival.com.au or call my office on 6584 0977.
King of the Mountain
Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club will again host The King of the Mountain Fun Run up Captain Cook Bi-Centennial Drive, North Brother Mountain as an essential fundraising opportunity for the club. The event will also raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research.
There are cash prizes for the King and Queen ($500 each), and for young ones a Prince and Princess prize of $250 each as winners of the mountain run.
I look forward to competing at 9am, on Sunday, August 20, when 400 competitors are expected to trek up the steep course. I hope to see plenty of people joining in. To register go to facebook.com/CamdenHavenKingOfTheMountain
Save the date
The fourth annual Bravehearts Mid North Coast Breakfast will be held at Port Macquarie Panthers on Friday, September 1.
Previous breakfasts and events have raised enough money for 1400 local school children to see the Ditto Keep Safe Adventure Show free of charge.
Save the date and help Bravehearts raise funds to ensure all children receive effective personal safety education.
