Rather than sell junk food, they will raise the funds with exercise.
More than 800 Australian schools raised a combined total of $3.6 million through the School Fun Run in 2016, connecting with their local communities for the mutual good of schools, students and communities while promoting youth health and financial education in the process.
CUA, Australia's largest credit union, is now in it's ninth year of supporting the program and in that time, schools have raised more than $23 million through the program, along with quite a few heart rates.
Parents, families, neighbours and local businesses have all offered support and donations to the students who will be warming up and running around in the name of fun and good health.
