The repair works at the Wayne Richards Park facility are to address the sideline issue at their own cost.
It comes after a defect was identified with the line marking on the synthetic field surface.
It meant the installed turf did not meet requirements for runoff along one sideline, and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council have been working closely with the construction contractor to address the issue.
With works now started, the handover of the new field is now expected during August (weather permitting).
That means the field will not be ready for Port Macquarie-Hastings Hockey Association before next season.
