A CLOSE slog saw Port Macquarie Magpies and Lismore head to the break level, but a strong second half effort gave the home side a win.
Captain Craig Dicker was impressed with his teams victory as they look ahead to Coffs Harbour this weekend, and continuing a strong run into the second half of the season.
“It was a real hard, close match. It was hard fought by both teams. They came out firing in the first half,” he said.
“It was all even at half time but we sort of got the momentum back in the second half and fought hard for the win. We just kept running and kept working as a team.
“Our back line was really good, especially in that first half. Lismore had a lot of entry into the 50 but our back line stood tall.”
Dicker admits it will be a tough match against Coffs, but the win against Lismore will give them confidence travelling, as will the likely return of several players.
