Lantern Walks are celebrated in Steiner Schools and many other communities across the globe in recognition of the shortest day of the year, and organisers hope this may become the start of a long running tradition for Port Macquarie.
The organisers have a lantern making workshop on Monday June 19 at 7:30pm at 8 Table Street Port Macquarie.
Port Macquarie Steiner School is awaiting final approval from NESA for the 2018 school, but organisers have been overwhelmed with community support for the new initiative in this area.
The school are currently taking expressions of interest from families wishing to enrol students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2. Prospective parents are invited to attend an information session on Saturday, July 29 at 2pm with guest speaker Sue Moran from Tallowood Steiner School.
The Little Bowerbirds Steiner Playgroup runs on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The playgroup is a great way for parents and their young children to become familiar with Steiner Education, and it also creates an opportunity for families to build supportive communities.
