Hastings residents are invited to enjoy horse events, cattle, goat and poultry judging, an animal nursery, amusement rides, a parade of cattle and horses, campdraft, dog high jump, gumboot throwing, show jumping and a fire safety demonstration over Friday and Saturday, April 21-22.
There’s also live entertainment, food and fireworks and of course, the wood chop. Then there’s the grand parade and the announcement of the Showgirl winner on Saturday afternoon.
There’ll be a hay-baling demo, a mini-bikes demo, a farmers challenge, a bull ride, junior steer and paddy ride.
Show Society president, Neil Coombes said they have bigger numbers of entries than usual, due to the Wingham and Kempsey shows being cancelled this year.
He said highlights will include the smash-up derby and the bull ride.
