From the coast to the hinterland there’s plenty to engage, inform and entertain, particularly if you enjoy putting on your walking shoes and getting outdoors.
There’s a range of walking tours in Wauchope, Laurieton and Port Macquarie that will provide fascinating insight into our past, and a coach will take history enthusiasts on a tour from Wauchope through Huntington, Long Flat, Ellenborough and Yarris, to Mount Seaview.
A church service in Pappinbarra, then afternoon tea at Hollisdale Hall is also a real highlight.
There’s events at Roto House, the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum, Port Macquarie Library, Innes Ruins and Port Macquarie Museum.
Thanks must go to those who contribute to keeping our history alive, and who put so much effort into hosting Heritage Festival events and experiences. To find out more and for booking details visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/heritage-festival.
ArtWalk is back
Port Macquarie’s CBD will be the backdrop for many of our region’s most creative talents, with ArtWalk coming to life again on Thursday.
The town centre will be abuzz with art experiences, food, drinks and an artist’s market is sure to offer lots of interesting items.
Don’t forget to grab your free ArtWalk map on the evening to help guide you around the many venues including art galleries, museums and other local businesses who are participating.
And there’s plenty outdoors for art lovers to feast their eyes and ears upon, with live art work, projections, and music taking place in open areas, on buildings and at pop-up spaces.
ArtWalk runs between 6pm and 9pm on April 20, and we look forward to an evening of creativity, inclusion and fun. Find out more at facebook.com/artwalkpmq.
