Among the Community Building Partnership recipients is Meals on Wheels Mid North Coast with $15,000 for a mobile freezer trailer.
The 2016 grant follows an earlier $30,000 Community Building Partnership grant to the organisation for a mobile freezer unit.
It is used to transport meals between branches.
Meals on Wheels Mid North Coast chief executive officer John Carroll said the mobile freezer unit was used to capacity.
The 2016 grant will buy a mobile freezer trailer.
“It’s to add capacity so we can do more transporting of meals around the region,” Mr Carroll said.
“It’s allowing us to expand the range of services we offer.”
Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said the Community Building Partnerships grants directly benefited our community, often creating jobs and increasing business opportunities, while at the same time enhancing investment in the Port Macquarie electorate.
“I am delighted to announce that grants have been approved for a variety of projects across the electorate ranging from $3000 for the Harrington Men’s Shed to $15,000 for the Lions Club of Tacking Point,” she said.
Mrs Williams congratulated the organisations and wished them well with the projects.
Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse will receive $12,468 for solar panel installation.
The solar panels are expected to save about $5000 a year on electricity costs.
Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse director Rob Moorehead said the solar panels would be a long-term asset.
He said the clubhouse still had no direct state or federal operational grant funding, so a saving in electricity was huge.
Solar Bright will provide the solar panels and install the 40-panel system at Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse.
