The one-of-a-kind trees take up to six hours to create using six glossy magazines, four metres of tinsel and, of course, the all-important tree-topper.
Port Macquarie Pink Ladies president Gabby Gregory said her volunteers’ Christmas trees were beautiful, unique and perfect as a table decoration.
“The leaves may not be real, but there’s certainly nothing artificial about the effort that goes into making these Christmas trees,” Mrs Gregory said.
“They really are works of art.
“And every cent raised from the sale of our Christmas trees is used to purchase medical equipment for the hospital or to improve patient amenity.
“Now that’s in keeping with the true spirit of Christmas.”
The Pink Ladies’ Christmas trees cost $25 each and are available at the enquiries desk in the hospital’s main foyer.
