Trainer Karl Miller said she had shown good form in recent weeks and he’s confident of another good showing.
“She went to Grafton and ran the fastest time of the night on November 14,” he said.
Mini Cousin only has a handful of starts at the Wauchope track, but has an impressive record.
“We’ve only had three starts there and I think she’ll win it again,” Miller said.
She will have to overcome the challenge of being in the “squeeze box” and the key to her success laid in how well she started.
“She’s jumping better with age and if you’re a good beginner it doesn’t matter which box you get.
“Over time greyhounds mature, but she still barks all the bloody time!”
The trainer said after Saturday night he would give Mini Cousin a rest for a couple of weeks.
“I hope she can be a contender for the Wauchope Cup later in the year,” he said.
