The ride from Port Macquarie to Laurieton raised $3389 and awareness about breast cancer.
The event, hosted by the Ulysses Club and the Mid North Coast Harley Owners Group, has been run for 16 years and is an important part of the national Breast Cancer Awareness campaign run throughout October.
Co-ordinators Chris and Colleen Jackson said this year’s motorcade of pink was spectacular to watch as riders and their pillions rode south to Laurieton in a sea of colour.
“It was an amazing effort and all for a good cause,” Colleen, who has worked with women diagnosed with cancer through the BreastScreen service, said.
The event was also an opportunity to encourage more women to join the Ulysses monthly Girls Only Ride.
All money raised from the event will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
According to the NBCF, 3,046 Australian women and 27 men are predicted to die from breast cancer this year; an average of eight people every day. But with progress made in early detection and better treatments, 90 per cent of those diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia will still be alive in five years.
