President Alice Miller said the partnership began when Endeavour’s director Rob Moorehead visited CWA in July as a guest speaker.
“He is so passionate about the organisation assisting adults with a mental illness. He told us Endeavour started with the help of a donation and with no government support ongoing donations from the community were very helpful,” she said.
On Wednesday, August 10 the CWA ladies voted to continue their support as a special project for 2017 and were happy to invited Mr Moorehead back to present him with a $1000 cheque donation.
“We will host special fundraising events for Endeavour throughout the year and our first will be in September with a fashion parade. There will be more to come on the event but it should be a lovely day,” Ms Miller said.
Mr Moorehead shared his appreciation and said since the clubhouse’s opening at the end of 2015, more than 200 people have used and benefited from the service.
“It is a completely free program for people dealing with mental illness. The $1000 will go a long way to assist local people. Without community donations the whole organisation would not be possible,” he said.
