Former Saints coach Boskovski was thrilled to hold the trophy aloft after establishing the senior club, then struggling in the Premier League and eventually being relegated at the end of the 2011 season.

The man they call Bozza has been involved with the Saints for 10 years, and Boskovski was instrumental in getting a seniors side off the ground.

He worked with the likes of Graham Edwards, Lance Williams, Pavel Deak and the late Peter Martino in helping to get the Saints to where they are today.

Plenty of blood, sweat and tears has gone into the club, and Boskovski was thankful for his naivety in the early years.

"If I had have known what was involved, I probably would have run away," he said on Monday as the thrill of the 3-2 win over Camden Haven Redbacks was still sinking in.

In recent years, he's stepped back in his service, and Boskovski preferred to deflect praise to those who are still working hard for Saints.

They include coaching staff of Tony Judge and Mark Rogers, who were supported by Tony Galloway and Chris Franey.

There's also, of course, the players.

"The boys have earnt it, mate," Boskovski said.

"I feel so proud, emotional and grateful of the result for the club and all associated with the club."

He said he was always "quietly confident" Saints could win Saturday's nailbiting final.

"They [Camden Haven] had more muscle and experience than us, but we had the stamina and speed," he said.

Judge has put huge hours into the Saints.

"In three years, he's equalled, hours wise, what I did in six years," Boskovski said.

Another Saints stalwart in Dan Gardner was massive in winning Saturday's grand final. Gardner headed in the winner in golden goal extra time.

The Saints came from behind twice to win. Aaron Oppedisano and Tayfun Devrimol also scored goals.

Rob Holland and Daniel Trompert found the net for the Redbacks.
