Adding to this weekend's occasion is Breakers second rower Matt Woods who notches up his 150th game with a club he joined almost 10 years ago.
"It's something special considering I played all my junior footy at the Breakers as well so to be with the one club is definitely special," he said.
Three years ago the Breakers had to navigate their way through the finals series after losing the major semi-final to Wauchope before they won through to the 2012 decider with victory over Taree City in the preliminary final.
This year the Breakers find themselves in a similar position after losing the major semi-final. They have a chance at redemption come 3pm Sunday at Regional Stadium.
In their two encounters this year just six points has separated Forster Tuncurry and Port City with Breakers winning a high-scoring shootout 34-28 six weeks ago.
"They're quite a strong team and they push us side to side so our defence has to be on," Woods said.
"Our ball handling and cutting down on our mistakes and discipline are the main areas we need to focus on." Woods said.
Coach Ben Sprague said his side was "probably a bit over-confident last week" and was looking forward to making amends against the Hawks, a side which he acknowledged had dangers across the park.
"There's about three or four older players in particular we need to be aware of and lock Matt Finlayson has represented Country as well. They have a very good side."
If it all goes according to plan Sprague was confident his side would be in the best possible shape for yet another showdown with the Sharks.
"We want another crack at them," he said.
"The Sharks are a great side and it will be massive for the town if we can get two Port sides in the grand final."
