THE Port Macquarie Magpies have one more hurdle to overcome before they claim a spot in the AFL?North Coast grand final.
The first grade side will take on the Coffs Breakers tomorrow and the winner will meet powerhouse of the competition, Sawtell, in the final game of the year.
Pies president Craig Carroll said the side has had the wood on their northern opponents for most of the year.
"They beat us once and that was early on in the year when we didn't have great numbers," he said.
"We've beaten them every game since and this week we will get a few players back too.
"Captain Jesse Schmidt, Ablett (Alf) and Matt Lill will all come back into the team."
He said the senior side wasn't too upset with their most recent loss to Sawtell.
"Up until three-quarter time there were only a couple of goals in it," he said.
"But we had a few injuries and ended up with an empty bench and the score reflected that in the end."
Reserve grade will take on Macleay Valley side and is expected to win with relative ease.
Meanwhile the under 18s remain undefeated and have booked a place in the grand final and will enjoy this weekend off.
