The Pies will take on top of the table Sawtell in a home game tomorrow which will be a entertaining day of football.
Both the so far undefeated under 18s and reserve grade teams will kick off ahead of first grade giving the senior team plenty of inspiration.
But over a number of season Sawtell have proven to be the Magpies bogie team and coach Damon Munt explained why.
"They have a very stable side with a lot talented players and they're strong in the forward line and defensive half," he said.
"We need to work hard in our forward line to shut them down.
"They've been the toughest side over the past few years and are pretty much the yardstick of the competition."
Munt said his entire roster was looking forward to the game but were under no illusion how tough it would be.
"Everyone is keen and excited for the game and they need to make sure they step up for these big games," he said.
In particular he said he was looking to his established players to make their mark on the game.
Players like Craig Dicker, Matt Lill and Kyle Lynch.
"We have a couple of other new players to the team that have shown a lot of promise like Matt Jones and Declan Delahunty too so it would be good to see them continue their good form and stand up in this game."
The first grade game kicks off at 2.20pm at Wayne Richards Park.
