Minor round ladder leaders Taree Opens took on Woolgoolga Opens in the first match with Taree winning convincingly to go through to the grand final.
Minor round runners up Hastings Valley Opens played third position HVNA 35s in a hard fought game.
The 35s started the game strongly and went out to a seven goal lead with the opens team struggling in attack.
As the game developed the opens, with youth on their side, came together very well and forged ahead overtaking the 35s in the third quarter and taking the game at the final whistle, 31-25.
The Michelle Marino-coached 35s team unfortunately, had to withdraw from their final game of the day due to injury and illness concerns, allowing Woolgoolga Opens to finish third overall.
Hastings then took on Taree in the grand final, and won 43-39.
Both teams, after having won their first game of the day, were confident in the first quarter.
The Hastings team was stronger in all positions on the court and at half time they were ahead by six goals.
Taree made some positional changes at half time and the team got a huge boost, and made great inroads into their six-goal deficit before overtaking Hastings in the third quarter by two goals.
Ably led in defence by captain Kellie Mann and backed up by her team, Hastings regrouped and took the Regional State League title.
The next challenge for this team will be at Netball NSW State Championships hosted by Illawarra Netball Association on the June long weekend.
