Hudson is one of the smallest front rowers running around, and his journey to triple figures has been a long one.
He started playing with the Wauchope Blues’ first grade side in 2004 after he finished in the under 18s.
Hudson achieved life membership in the juniors for playing 100 games, and has now done so in the seniors.
Having a couple of years off in between seasons halted his progress, but now Hudson has finally achieved a goal he set long ago.
“Gaining life membership with the juniors and now with the seniors I feel like I’ve achieved my goal,” he said.
“It’s been a long time coming.”
Despite even a lot of centres outweighing him, Hudson always gives it his all in the number 10 jersey, putting his body on the line for the good of the Blues.
“It’s for the benefit of the team,” he said.
“I don’t mind playing prop and putting my body on the line, it’s all a part of the game.”
He points to the grand finals won, both in the under 18s and first grade, as the obvious career highlights.
“The grand finals that we won like the 2003 under 18s which we weren’t expected to win and in first grade in the last few years, they are all great memories,” he said.
“The mateship is huge as well. I’ve played with a lot of good blokes who become your good mates outside of footy.
“Playing alongside other experienced guys, especially when I first started, was awesome.”
Hudson is yet to make up his mind about playing on next year or not.
“My wife always comes along as do my kids, they give me a lot of support and even though it takes some time out of the family life they have been a huge support,” he said.
