In massive Anzac Day match up, the Breakers will be home at the Regional Stadium to the Wauchope Blues in the second game of the Group 3 competition.
Coach, Ben Sprague admitted the day, and the game will be emotion charged.
“There’s always feeling in it whenever we play Wauchope, let alone it being Anzac Day,” he said.
“There’ll be plenty of feeling in it.
“I’m glad we’re playing a team like Wauchope on Anzac Day, they are a tough side and it will make for a great day of footy.”
Sprague said he would speak to his chargers about the importance of playing on such a sacred and historical day.
“I’ll just tell them to take it in and enjoy the moment,” he said.
“It is a massive occasion to be playing footy and representing your club on Anzac Day.”
And in typical Anzac Day fashion, Sprague is looking to his forwards to make a stand and dominate proceedings.
With the likes of Dan Dumas and Mitchell Fowler back in the ranks the Breakers will be looking to do just that.
Despite a number of the more experienced players returning for the clash, Sprague said he still expected a close game.
“Wauchope have a bit of a new side,” he said.
“They’ve lost a couple and gained a couple, but they’ve got that winning culture and that’s hard to lose with a club.”
First grade will kick off at 3pm with the players expected to be running out on the field full of emotion with the Last Post being performed before kick off.
Breakers president Geoff Kelly encouraged league fans to attend and said it would be a great way to spend such an important day.
“We’re putting on free Anzac buscuits, tea and coffee for anyone who is interested,” he said.
“And we’re expecting it to be a top day of footy.”
The action starts with women’s league tag at 11.30am, under 18s at 12.30pm, reserve grade 1.40pm and first grade kick off at 3pm.
