Twelve out of the 18 players picked in the team are from the Port City Breakers, Port Macquarie Sharks and Wauchope Blues.
The side will also be led by Sharks player Matt Shipway and coached by Sharks president Phil Trembath.
Trembath said some of the players were given until the last second to stake their claim in the team.
Also one of the selectors, Trembath attended the Blues and Forster-Tuncurry game on Sunday.
He said a number of players made the team from their performance on the day.
Others, he said were selected on a tried and tested basis like with five-eighth Nick McCabe who performed well in the side last year and Mitchell Fowler who hasn’t played this year due to injury.
Meanwhile, some players who have had impressive starts to the year and will make their representative debuts are Harley Gore and Tom Maguire.
The side will only get limited time to prepare for their May 3 match in Coffs Harbour with the neighbouring Group 2.
“At this level its mainly about making sure the players gel,” he said.
“Then come game time the forwards go forward and the halves take control.”
