The Port Macquarie Magpies will host the newly amalgamated Coffs Harbour Breakers in all grades from Under 11's at 10am through to the seniors under lights, starting at 5.30pm.
Club president, Ged Byrne said it be the second time that Port Macquarie has hosted a game under lights, and the first time that the junior club will be joining in on the same day.
Being the first home game of the round it is also the "Paul Sheldon Memorial Game", acknowledging the outstanding contribution of our long serving president who passed away in 2011.
In addition to being a great event in the club's calendar it is also a major milestone for a couple of our long serving players.
Senior's coach, Damon Munt is looking forward to seeing how his charges stack up against the new look Breakers as this will be the first hit out against the new club.
He is confident that the home town advantage and the return of some major play-makers to the team will see a very competitive and entertaining game.
As with all home games, the crowd favourite will be the reserves game led by Magpies veteran Anthony Beasley.
Reserves games are always a great mix of cunning and skill that comes from years of experience, and the up and coming exuberance of youth.
There are also a few players that will be having their first competition game of Australian Rules.
After a gutsy showing against the Sawtell Saints last week Craig Carroll expects another fiercely contested game for his Under 18's.
It will be important that they stick to the plans we have been practicing at training and play to each other's strengths like they did last week.
There will be a barbecue and canteen running all day and entry is free.
