It could've been hailing, but fans were determined to catch a glimpse of the pop sensations, who carved their names in reality TV history when they came second and third in last year's X Factor series.
Reminiscent of the adoration heaped on superstar bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, mesmerised fans ploughed their way to the front of the stage to get as close as possible to the rising stars.
The Port News' VIP pass winners Nicola Smith and Tegan Chapman had no such problem, as they watched the concert from the stage and rubbed shoulders with their idols afterwards.
The girls, who were almost frozen with nerves, said they hadn't been able to sleep properly since receiving the phone call to say they'd won.
Fourteen-year-old Nicola, who invited her 13-year-old sister Paris Reid, even painted a portrait of Taylor to be autographed.
"Taylor is my favourite all the way, but I also love Jai.
"I even made cupcakes decorated with Pods (chocolates) because they're his (Taylor's) favourite," she said.
Tegan on the other hand was most excited to meet Jai and posted more than 30 entries to seal the deal.
When the 14-year-old received the lucky phone call last Wednesday, she was celebrating her birthday, which she shares with eight-year-old sister Hayley.
"My friend was at Jai's concert in Parramatta on Wednesday night and he actually got on the phone and sang us happy birthday.
"I couldn't believe it," she said.
