President, David Barnes said although the Vikings got the win he said it was a scrappy game.
“We played well in the wet conditions but a few little scuffles broke out and the refs were struggling to control it,” he said.
A quick and strong start by the Vikings meant the team was able to take the opportunity to make a number of changes and trial positional changes with the players.
“With the finals coming up it was a good chance to trial a few different things,” Barnes said.
While the team welcomed back Chris Johnson from injury Barnes admitted the game took its toll on a few players.
“There’s a few out there that have picked up a few niggly injuries but they need to be assessed yet and work out if they will be risked next week.”
The Vikings take on the last placed Southern Cross University Marlins this week in what is the final competition game before the finals start.
