It has come fresh off the back of James Magnussen’s two gold and a bronze in the pool and Shelley Watts’ boxing gold medal.
It means the Mid-North Coast has accounted for five out of the overall total.
Brown missed out in the squash singles and women’s doubles but redeemed herself in the mixed doubles with partner Cameron Pilley.
The pair took out the bronze medal play off against New Zealand.
The 29-year-old has been in contact with her father Trevor in Taree via email.
But the proud father said he hadn’t spoken to her since the bronze medal performance.
“She wrote me a couple days ago and said the singles was tough competition and she couldn’t pull off an upset so her oponent must have been the favourite,” he said.
“I actually didn’t know until Monday that she’d gone on and won the bronze in the mixed.
“There was nothing on TV about it, it’s actually shocking but they hardley ever cover the squash for some reason.”
There was even more big news that Brown’s father revealed.
“She’s considering retirement at the moment to take up a coaching role,” he said.
“She’s sick of travelling and she doesn’t get to see her family very often. We might see her once a year, maybe twice if we’re lucky.”
But there was at least one more competition on Brown’s radar before she decides to retire.
First she will return home in the coming weeks for a well deserved break before heading back to the US.
There she will compete in the US Open.
Another Commonwealth Games representative will return to the Hastings in the coming weeks.
John Borg was selected in the Malta lawn bowls team. Unfortunately for Borg and Malta he failed to medal.
