THERE was no joy for a depleted Beechwood side when they travelled to the plateau on Saturday, walking away without posting a point as Comboyne piled on 72 points.

Past players were invited to a luncheon at the club where the reminiscing began, only to continue at the ground where the "Old Boys" were the guests of the Tigers to watch the game, enjoy some good old Comboyne hospitality and no doubt reminisce some more.
Comboyne opened the scoring just five minutes into the game with Kyle Debreceny crossed for the first of his three tries.
Blake Debreceny added to the score just seven minutes later and George Jones with two tries, Jason Troy with one of his two for the day and Dion Glassie all scored in the first half.
Dennis Jones converted five of the tries taking the score at the break to 38-0.
The Tigers added to the score six minutes into the second half with Shannon Lee scoring one of his two tries, George Jones followed on a short time later. Dennis Jones was to convert four of the five second-half tries leading to the final result.
Beechwood was unlucky not to score on several occasions, being held up over the line a number of times.
To their credit they never gave up and played the whole 80 minutes. Allowing for the fact that they had only one reserve and a match-ending injury to one of their key players early in the second half, they can hold their heads high.
Referees points were awarded to Shannon Lee and Jason Troy for Comboyne, with Quintin Paine picking up one for Beechwood.
The best for Beechwood were Jamie Trotter, Daniel Copp and Joshua Witchard with Josh, in his first season of league, convincingly taking out the players' player vote.
Beechwood now host the Long Flat Dragons on Saturday, July 19, where the Roods Memorial Shield will be contested.
The Shamrocks are keen to bring the shield home and the Dragons just as keen to keep it.
It also marks a special occasion for player Mathew Bell, who will be playing his 100th game.
The Shamrocks would like to issue a special invitation to their past players who have achieved this milestone, the Roods family and their supporters to attend the game from 2.30pm and afterwards for a sausage sizzle at the ground to celebrate.
