The supermarket giant owns the Food for Less site and is in negotiations with Crown Lands to buy the adjoining Plaza car park.
About 30 people at the Port Macquarie CBD Property Owners Group meeting heard about the Woolworths redevelopment proposal.
The plans are a work in progress.
The meeting also heard from a Crown Lands representative and Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams.
Discussion became heated at times when questions from the floor turned to the issue of Crown Lands dealing directly with Woolworths over the Plaza car park rather than using an expression of interest process.
