The 176 lot residential and commercial subdivision was approved at a Northern Joint Regional Planning Panel (NJRPP) meeting in Port Macquarie last week.
A capital investment value of just under $10 million has been estimated for the project.
NJRPP chair Garry West said no concerns were raised by members of the panel.
“The application went before the panel because of it’s regional significance, because it’s in a coastal zone, and because of the number of lots involved.”
Planning consultancy King and Campbell first received approval for a concept plan in November, 2011.
Approval for the large-scale development marks a major milestone some 20 years in the making.
The DA report said the proposed development would not be expected to have any adverse cumulative impacts on the natural or built environment, or the social and economic attributes of the area.
