PORT Macquarie touch is accepting team nominations for the upcoming winter men and mixed competitions.
NSW Touch has implemented an online registration system which has been operating in some clubs for the past couple of years, and has proven to be successful in saving a great deal of time and hassle for the team manager, players and club administrators.
As of 2014, online registrations will be the only way to enter a team or player in any competition in NSW and the paying online option will also be introduced for this 2013 summer season. Representative teams and players are already using this system to enter events such as the State Cup, Junior State Cup and Country Championships.
The men’s competition will commence on Monday, March 18 at Wood Street and kicks off at 6.30pm.
The cost to enter a team is displayed on the club website, whose link is below shown below.
The mixed competition commences on Wednesday, March 20 at Stuart Park and has two time slots – either 6pm or 6.45pm.
Please enter your team early to avoid disappointment.
The way it works is fairly simple, so to all team managers, here is what you do: n Go to the website www.portmacquarietouch.com and on the right of the page click on Register Now-2013 Winter Team Nomination Form. This link will take you directly to the form and you should select enter a new team.
Fill in all boxes, you need to have the details of a second team contact as well, and press the confirm button. You will be sent confirmation email advising you were successful in registering a team and, giving you a team code.
Forward this team code to all your players so they can go to the same website and complete their form using the code. They too will receive an email advising they have been registered in your team.
We have trialled the process and found it to be user-friendly and relatively simple, but we are only too happy to help, so if you are experiencing any difficulties email port.touch@bigpond.com or call 0427 811 181.
We are still having two team payment nights. They are tomorrow and Thursday, March 7, and both at The Settlers Inn, Hastings River Drive between 5.30 and 6.30pm.
THE Junior State Cup was wet under foot but an outstanding success. Port’s teams all played well and the players enjoyed the experience and the weekend in general. Manly won the Club Championship but the stand out Club for me was Wagga who won at least one final and got to a couple of others. It’s a long way from Wagga to Port and back and to bring two buses loaded to the hilt with players, coaches, managers and referees is a sensational effort. Congratulations Wagga and especially your club president Chris for leading by example.
That’s it for this week, make sure you get started on entering your team and we look forward to seeing everyone again come March.
Remember, stay in touch.
