ROLLING COVERAGE continues - State Junior Cup day two

ALL the action from day two at Port Macquarie's regional stadium.

Sunday 5pm

Several grand finals have now been completed as the tournament wraps up shortly.

Newcastle City defeated the Penrith Panthers 7-2 in the under-18s girls grand final while the under-18s boys title went to the Bankstown Jets, who defeated Taree in a thrilling 12-11 contest.

The Ryde Eastwood Hawks handed out a 5-0 drubbing to the Panthers in the under-16s boys final while the Manly Sea Eagles defeated the Lower Blue Mountains team 11-6.

Sunday 12.45pm

The Port Macquarie under-12s boys team is the only local hope left, and the boys don't look like advancing past their quarter final at the moment. The boys are playing Wests Magpies.

Sunday 11am

AFTER a great start to the tournament, Louise Budnick's under-16s girls suffered three losses to be fourth in their pool.

The form team so far in the girls' pool is Lower Blue Mountains, who have blown away the opposition. And that's in a pool that includes the powerhouse teams of Wallsend Wolves and Easts Roosters.

Budnick was thrilled about the first match, but things went a bit awry from there. "We started out unreal," she said. "We had a good win first-up."

Sunday 9.20am

PORT Macquarie teams have had mixed results so far in the NSWTA Junior State Cup on home soil.

The Brent Steep-coached under-12s boys suffered their first loss of the tournament this morning, but it was a heavy one. They went down 9-0 to Newcastle City.  The boys won all their matches on Saturday. The team is waiting on a time to play its quarter-final match today.
