Do you have a clown in your class?

WE all know one. We all grew up with one. A class clown, that is.

But come February 23 at Port Macquarie’s Glasshouse, we want to unearth a real class clown.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival will hit town as its hunt to find the funniest teen in the land with the annual Class Clowns competition gears up.

Professional comedians will work shop with wannabe kid‐comics with the aim of finding the most side-splitting senoritas and facetious fellas from each state and territory.

The cream of the teenage crop will then be flown to Melbourne to perform on the main stage in the Class Clowns National Grand Final, on April 19 during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, in front of audiences from far and wide.

Prizes include $1000 for themselves, $1000 for their school and the prestigious Class Clown title.

The program is heading to 16 locations across Australia – and for the first time – comes to Port Macquarie.

The heats will be held at 11am on Saturday at The Glasshouse and the curtain will go up on the performance – which will be open to the public – at 3pm.

Triple J star Tom Ballard and Talkin’ Bout My Generation funny guy Josh Thomas came through the Class Clowns program.
