It is the first year the seaside town will host the event after securing the rights to the competition until 2015.
The event was previously held in Wollongong but NSW Touch Football general manager Dean Russell said Port Macquarie was the obvious choice to take the competition.
He said the success of host Wollongong also led to its demise. He said it had outgrown the facilities and Port Macquarie had already proved itself as capable of hosting major events.
“The Port Macquarie venue has a proven record in hosting major events of the NSW Touch Association and indeed of the national body and has both field and accommodation capacity to continue the growth of the event and in context allow for more youths to be exposed to the Junior State Cup,” he said.
"We are extremely confident that the partnerships already established in Port Macquarie with the NSW Touch Association will continue the strong development of this event.”
Russell said he was looking forward to the new era of touch football to be played at Port Macquarie.
“We are looking forward to an exciting new chapter in the world’s largest weekend Touch footballing event at Port Macquarie,” he said.
“The strong partnership that already exists with the NSW Touch Association and the Port Macquarie region were also strong points of reference when considering Port Macquarie as a venue.
“The Port Macquarie tender was, as it is always has been, strong, and the existing relationships at all levels were a binding force when the board considered the move.
“We are extremely excited about the potential that the move to Port Macquarie for the Junior State Cup offers us.”
With Port Macquarie being the home venue, it has inspired the most ever participants from the area to line up for the event with at least one team in each category.
The Junior State Cup kicks off tomorrow at 8am.
