Greg Haydon won B grade and Vic Piraner C grade with 43 stableford points each, and Cliff Toms was the A grade winner with 41 points.
Despite making one-pointers at the 15th and 16th holes, Piraner had a strong back nine of 23 points to go with his 20 points around the front. He made two four-pointers and six three-pointers. Bill Atkinson was the runner-up to Piraner in C grade with 41 points. He had a bad patch in the middle were he followed a wipe with a one-pointer, but he was solid for the rest of the round. He made seven three-pointers and a four-pointer.
Peter Gannon made three four-pointers on the back nine to take third place in C grade with 40 points. He had 22 points for the final eight holes. Haydon also made two four-pointers and six three-pointers in his 22 points out and 21 home. His winning score in B grade was three points ahead of the rest of the field. He birdied the seventh and 10th holes for four points each and he also had six three-pointers.
Joe Barbaro was the runner up in B grade and Peter Field was third, both with 40 points. In winning A grade, Toms had a birdie at the fourth hole for four points and he made five-three pointers.
Mark Cooper and Dave Harris each made 40 points to be second and third respectively in A grade. Stefan Walker won the scratch score with 36 points after making two birdies and two bogeys.
The nearest to the pins were won by Luke Elwood (47cm at the fifth hole), Brian Tierney (81cm, seventh), Ross Radford (278 cm, 13th) and Cliff Bamford (299 cm, 16th).
Visitors figured prominently in the trophy list in Sunday’s medley fourball. Dennis Johnson from Shoalhaven Heads teamed with Port Macquarie Lady Captain Glenys Cummings to win with 50 points.
