The man - wanted in NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria - began his eventful day at 8.20am when he allegedly failed to stop for police about 20km south of Tamworth.
The short pursuit of the Holden Astra was ended for safety reasons, police said.
The car was seen at 1.25pm on the Pacific Highway, Cooperabung, and police attempted to stop it, but lost sight of the car when it took off at speed.
About 2.50pm, police engaged in another pursuit with the vehicle on the Pacific Highway at Kempsey.
The car was found abandoned in South Kempsey and it’s alleged a small amount of cannabis was found inside.
About 4.20pm, police stopped a 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl in Fourth Avenue, Kempsey. They were taken to Kempsey Police Station and the teenager released without charge.
The 27-year-old, who allegedly had an amount of foreign currency and gold on him at the time, was found to have outstanding warrants in NSW and three other states.
His NSW warrant was executed and he was charged with exceeding speed by more than 45km/h, police pursuit – not stop (Skye’s Law), two counts of driving in a manner dangerous, and two counts of being an unaccompanied learner.
He was refused bail and will appear before Port Macquarie Local Court today.
Interstate police have been notified of the man’s arrest.
