Today, Ella-Jayne turns 12, on December 12, 2012, sporting an unusual four 12s in a row.
Wedding registries over the world are reportedly overflowing with couples in a mad rush to get married, and even hospitals have received an influx of couples hoping their baby is be born on the special day. Fans of the number 12 will be delighted with six repeats of the number at 12 past 12: 12/12/12 12:12:12.
Theories of a day of enlightenment, and doomsday warnings are not uncommon but, for Ella-Jayne and her family, it has its own special feel.
“Twelve has always been my favourite number,” said Ella-Jayne's mother Stephanie Ruddy.
“For her to come on my favourite day was just amazing.”
Ella-Jayne arrived more than a week early.
with her umbilical chord wrapped around her throat.
"We nearly lost her," Ms Ruddy said. "She's a very lucky young girl."
The outgoing 12-year-old, who exudes a maturity beyond her years, said she had been looking forward to this day ever since she could count.
"I don't know why, but I have always felt really lucky," Ella-Jayne said. "I was born in the year of the dragon, which is pretty special too."
