Thousands of dollars of belongings have been taken from under the noses of the Atkins family while they slept each Wednesday night for the past two weeks.
The family, which includes two children younger than 10, have been staying at the Lighthouse Beach Holiday Village while they wait for their home to be built.
But Adam Atkins said he has had enough, and is pulling up stumps from the temporary home after the latest incident.
On the first occasion last week, Mr Atkins’ silver Nissan Navara was taken.
A television, pay-TV Austar box and make-up boxes also were taken in the raid.
On a good note, the car was found that night just 30 minutes after Mr Atkins reported it stolen.
The vehicle was found at Lake Cathie and its alleged occupants were arrested.
The family still has not had the other property stolen on that occasion returned.
But even Mr Atkins said he was bemused by the latest incident.
“My pushbike, which I just bought the previous day, was stolen this time,” he said.
“But they even took a basket of dirty laundry.”
He said, in all, about $1000 of property was taken in the most recent raid.
Mr Atkins said he and his family would look at home security in a different light and urged Hastings residents to do the same.
“Lock it up,” he said.
“Lock everything up and make sure it’s secure.
“These guys were very game. They would have been right outside where we were sleeping.”
