The two teams will play the first game under lights at the newest turf wicket in town.
It’s part of the new twenty20 competition, where one game per week for the next month will be played in the dark at Wayne Richards.
A father and son combination will turn out for Comboyne tonight, when Ethan and Nigel McKenna take to the field. Nigel comes in for Tom Rienstra, who will be in Maitland playing a school match.
Comboyne captain Andrew Glover looked forward to the McKenna pair being on the field.
“They get on pretty well,” he said.
Glover said the pair would enjoy the experience. “I played a couple of years with my dad,” he said. “It was fun.”
Playing under lights would be a challenge for Glover. He has fielded once in those conditions, but never played a full match.
“It will definitely be different,” he said.
The match gets underway at 6pm.
