Truck driver dies in Pacific Highway crash

A man has died in a serious truck accident near Herons Creek this morning.

Crash investigators are examining the scene of the crash which happened between a B-double truck and a semi-trailer on the Pacific Highway just before 7am today.

Officers said it appears the b-double collided with the back of the semi trailer about 500m south of Herons Creek Rd.

The driver of the B-Double died at the scene.

He is believed to be in his 50s.

The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured and has been taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Multiple police units, five ambulance crews and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were tasked to the scene. 

Motorists are advised that one lane north and south is operating and drivers are asked to reduce speed throughout this area.
