MURWILLUMBAH has Scott Prince, but Port Macquarie has Wayne Prince. That’s the message from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council mayor Peter Besseling who is confident of a good showing from the locals this weekend. The 28th successive State Cup in Port Macquarie is anticipated to bring more than $3 million into the local economy. “It is a great opportunity to showcase the area once more,” Besseling said. “Although they’re talking up Jamie Soward and Scott Prince, we’ve got Wayne Prince so we’ll see theirs and raise them our own. “My hamstrings aren’t designed for touch football, but I’ll head out there and encourage everyone to do the same.” Besseling was hopeful of a positive outcome with NSW Touch Football for coming years. “That’s the plan, we’re working towards securing it, that’s council’s agenda so that’s what we’ll look towards,” he said. “We look forward to a long relationship with them.”
