High-ranking ALP officials, along with delegates from the Mid-North Coast Country Labor branches, will visit Port Macquarie for the Northern NSW Regional Assembly.
State opposition education spokeswoman Carmel Tebbutt will address concerns at the meeting about the state government's education cuts as the fight steps up against the $1.7 billion slash to the education budget.
Ms Tebbutt said every child deserved a world-class education which is why it was so important for teachers and parents to get involved in the campaign.
She said concerns were wide ranging but a fear these cuts would impact on a generation of students was at the heart of the issue.
Ms Tebbutt will meet with representatives from government and non-government schools during her visit.
NSW Education Minister Adrian Piccoli said the state government must focus on delivering education and training in the most efficient and equitable way and that was why the government had to make a number of tough decisions.
Meanwhile, other guests as the regional assembly include NSW ALP vice-president Tara Moriarty, Senator Matt Thistlethwaite, Country Labor organiser Courtney Roche and communications director Kaila Murnain.
Port Macquarie Branch of Country Labor president Narelle Rich said the assembly would be an ideal opportunity for individual branch members to present their views on Labor Party policy and in particular, the federal election.
