Fire and Rescue NSW teams were alerted to a car on fire in Lincoln Road, Port Macquarie around 5.35pm on Wednesday, March 25.
Station officer Geoff Peacock said crews attended a community housing block to find a car alight inside a garage.
"Two fire engines, the HAZMAT appliance and 12 firefighters attended the scene," Mr Peacock said.
"They were able to contain the fire, however an adjoining townhouse suffered smoke damage."
NSW Ambulance crews were not called to treat anyone at the scene.
