The Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Tacking Point, Lake Cathie and Laurieton Lions Clubs would like to pass on their sincere thanks to the communities of Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills and Laurieton for the donations they made to the Lions Drought Relief Appeal.
With additional support from the Australian Lions Foundation, the community raised $200,000 for farmers within the local Lion’s District 201n1.
The funds have been distributed to farmers via gift cards to be used within their local communities or to specific Lions Clubs located in the worst drought-affected areas for allocation to their local farming communities.
One hundred per cent of all funds raised by Lions, regardless of the appeal, is given to the designated recipients.
Overall, Lions in Australia raised over a $1 million for the appeal, in addition to the delivery of hay and other farm products, from locations far from the drought-affected areas.
