The 2018 Holiday Coast Credit Union Business Awards have been run and won with 500 people filling Panthers Port Macquarie on July 28 for a night of glitz and glamour.
The awards recognise outstanding service, our community business champions and the innovators.
For CSU’s Heather Cavanagh, PVC Global Engagement, the honour was a testament to the hard work and dedication of staff over the last six years of the university’s foundation in Port Macquarie.
“This really is acknowledgement of the effort we have put in over the last six years at CSU in Port Macquarie and the interaction of the community and its support,” she said on accepting the award.
The Excellence in Business honour went to EIRE Constructions with native food producer Barbushco Pty Ltd taking out the Excellence in Small Business gong.
Two businesses were inducted into the 2018 Hall of Fame – Billabong Zoo and Hastings Co-op.
Mark Stone was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of his team. The zoo has been in the family’s hands since 2003 and has worked its way up to being a multi-award winning tourist attraction.
Hastings Co-op’s honour was well deserved with the business, which has a 101 year history in the region, now the second largest consumer retail co-operative in Australia employing more than 300 people.
With more than 100 finalists contesting this year’s awards, Holiday Coast Credit Union’s Neville Parsons said the common thread among them all was their focus on customers.
The People’s Choice Award this year went to Panthers Port Macquarie with Ashley Sargeson of Touchwood Flowers taking out the Woman in Business Award for the second year.
