Vintage rides in all their glory were on show at Douglas Vale vineyard on Saturday, March 24 in Port Macquarie as a part of the annual 32nd Datsun Sports Owners’ National Championships.
Car enthusiasts from across the country met to show off their wheels with judges selecting the best of the best across four categories with an additional people’s choice prize.
Judge Syd Carr said the cars would be scrutinised for originality, best restoration and best model in class with every element from the interior to engine inspected.
Organising spokesperson Steve Naudi said more than 400 Datsun lovers are members of state clubs across the country and the weekend meet was a way to catch up with like-minded friends.
The event marked the 50th celebration of the release of the Datsun 2000 (2L model) in 1968.
