The truck was parked in the yard of Access Hire, on Maitland Road, advertising the upcoming Monster Truck and FMX One Night of Destruction show at Maitland Showground on April 20.
The show’s promoter, Troy Garcia, believes the theft was carried out by people who know there is a limited market for this type of high performance engine. “It was obviously targeted and I don’t like our chances of getting it back,” he said.
He hopes police can obtain CCTV footage from Access Hire and the RMS which has traffic cameras installed on Maitland Road.
Despite the theft he said the Maitland show will go on with the truck currently in a workshop at Rutherford waiting for an engine replacement.
The theft occurred sometime between Friday, March 16 and Monday, March 19. If you know something, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
